When is a DPIA required?
Since the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force, carrying out a DPIA, known in Dutch as a gegevensbeschermingseffectbeoordeling, has become mandatory in many cases. You carry out a DPIA when you develop new services or products that use personal data. Think of a new app or new software for managing sickness absence, or the use of big data, drones or behavioural targeting.
What does a DPIA deliver?
A DPIA gives you a clear picture of the privacy risks within your organisation at an early stage. The results form the basis for the improvements we work out for you. They become part of a tailored strategy and improvement plan for your service or product.
DPIA or pre-DPIA?
Whether a DPIA is necessary depends on various factors. Sometimes a streamlined version, a pre-DPIA, offers the solution. We are happy to advise you on this. We have the knowledge and expertise to guide your organisation through a DPIA or pre-DPIA.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a DPIA and a pre-DPIA?
A pre-DPIA is a streamlined assessment of whether a full DPIA is needed. If the risk is high, a full DPIA follows.
